      The numerals can be purchased from Neinhuis or Alison's Montessori. There are two sizes. I like the smaller size for the fractions and the larger size for whole numbers. The cut-out "holes" representing negative numbers are homemade from the craft foam pieces (I think that is what they are called) that can be purchased from a craft store.

    Could you tell me the material you are using, or even better - a link to purchase it? Specifically the negative bead bars (colored bar cards with empty holes). Thank you!

    • @MontessoriLive
      @MontessoriLive 7 месяцев назад

      Hi, The colored bead bars with holes are handmade from the colored craft foam you can buy at Michael's or a similar craft store. They are cut so that the holes are the same size as the colored beads to allow the student to place the colored bead bar on top of the holes. The length of the foam piece is the same as the beadier (including the wires so that the holes last, if that makes sense!) Thanks for your question. This material was initially developed by Harvey Hallenberg. I took my elementary training from him in the mid-nineties and have used these materials ever since! I hope that helps.

    What age do you typically introduce the geometric solids. From Dr. Montessori's literature I garhered that I should give them to 12 and 24 month toddlers to get farmiliar with the dynamics of the shapes and learn to trace with their fingers. Is that correct?

    • @MontessoriLive
      @MontessoriLive 3 года назад

      It is possible to introduce these shapes to toddlers. At the 3-6 level, they are the first lesson in the study of geometry and can be introduced to children who are three years old. They are also used in the lower elementary level. .
